About Gluta
Glutathione is a tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine. Unusually, the glutamate is linked through its side-chain (gamma) carboxyl group rather than the usual alpha carboxyl, which makes the molecule resistant to most peptidases.
The free thiol on the cysteine residue makes glutathione readily oxidized, forming the disulfide-linked dimer (GSSG). Keep vials sealed and limit air exposure. Saevin supplies reduced glutathione as a lyophilized powder in a sealed vial.
